Botox®

Botox® is a cosmetic treatment that is quick and minimally invasive. A few tiny injections into over-active muscles restrict the movement that causes facial creases or wrinkles. The FDA approved the drug in 2002 to treat frown lines between the eyebrows but the product is also used on crows's feet and forehead creases. Botox is by far the most popular non-invasive treatment with more than 2.5 million procedures performed in 2007, a jump of 13 percent since 2006. While some patients may experience bruising or numbness, the treatments are relatively easy, low-risk, and produce youthful results.
